Multi-platform time tracker (15-03-08)

Nice interface

The igoogle time tracking app that I tried didn't work out right. So what happened? the server housing that app went down or something ... so I needed a local time tracker to count my hourly work.

Then I discovered Rachota time tracker, it is surprisingly fast for a java application. It works in Windows or Linux which makes it very handy and can be loaded up into a usb thumb drive.

Aside from tracking hours performed on a task I found that it can also track idle time, make reports, graphs and a 'relax' button

Organizing thoughts and ideas with kde basket

Thursday 19. of July 2007

I used to organize my ideas with simple text files and sometimes memo records from a pda. Soon I got a Moleskine organizer but the results were the same with both approaches, all of my stuff are still all over the place. Written ideas are great in a simple paper pad and pen/pencil but there are time...

RecordMyDesktop is also nice, but it saves only to open formats like theora for video and vorbis for audio. Camstudio is for window...

Review: MSI S425 Laptop

Wednesday 16. of May 2007

My desktop is getting old ... around 3+ years worth of regular use. It has to be replaced soon. Which brings me to purchase on installment an MSI S425. It's the cheapest laptop with nvidia video I could find. All the rest are ATI (poor linux support), they're mostly out of stock anyway. To be ab...

The Japanese government wants to go open source, as a way to rely less on a single vendor IT software infrastructure. And plenty of vendors are lining up to help make this happen.

"The first beta version of typo.script.aculo.us is available for download." - site. Just tried it today. Very nice extension, I was able to create cool content fadings & other interesting javascript effects. Too many effects can slow down the site though for those using slower pc's. No set...
